Sea Food For Lunch And Dinner

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Many of us are frightened by the term sea food. This come primarily from the fact that not a lot know what sea food actually is. Although any sea animal or any seaweed that can be eaten enters the sea food category, many say that seaweeds are not actually sea food and that they enter the sea food vegetables category instead.

Fish, shellfish and mollusks are the sea water animals mostly referred to as sea food. Crustaceans are also part of this category, although they are considered by many to be delicateness. Fresh water animals are in some parts of the world included into the sea food category; although not all consider that they belong in this category. At first only seawater animals such as shellfish, fish, crustaceans and mollusks were considered sea food and many still hang on to this idea although now any eatable sea animal from sea water or fresh water is considered sea food.

Sea food is used in many diets and more and more people have started to enjoy sea food because of its high content of proteins. Whether they go to a restaurant and order sea food, or they just go fishing and cook their own meal, people have realized that sea food is very healthy and should be made part of their lunch or dinner. However, going to a restaurant assures you a wider menu than going fishing yourself, because not all sea animals can be fished or found easily.
